DLISSA (duh-lissa) is St. John’s Division of Library & Information Science’s Student Association. Our student-run, faculty-supported DLIS Student Association is so excited to host a symposium for area LIS students at St. John’s Manhattan Campus. With our first annual Student Research Symposium, we aim to unite students from NYC-area ALA-Accredited LIS programs for an exciting morning of sharing, collaborating, and networking.
We are currently accepting proposals for presentations, posters & panels!
DLISSA invites submissions of student research completed for class, independent research, pet projects, or internship research, with a partner, or in a group of 3 – basically anything of interest that you would like to present to your peers, faculty, and other LIS professionals in a friendly, scholarly environment.
The three formats available for student presentation are poster, PowerPoint presentation, and panel discussion. We ask that poster presentations and PowerPoints are presented in groups of 1-3, while panels have at least 3 people. Please feel free to collaborate with students from other programs and departments!
We ask that research submissions contain the name(s) and contact information of all group members and a 100-150 word abstract of your project. Submissions are due to DLISSA at our email address, firstname.lastname@example.org, by March 1, 2016. We look forward to reading everyone’s proposals!
